Reflexology

Reflexology is the practice of massaging precise points on the feet to relieve tension and treat illnesses.

Today Reflexology is one of the most thought after forms of alternative therapy. Countless thousands of people all over the world have discovered how effective this ancient art of foot massage brings relaxation, relief from stress and healing to the body.

The origins of reflexology date back to China, 4000 years ago. This healing technique is closely related to acupuncture and makes use of energy channels (meridians) that relate to specific organs and functions. Massaging these points can strengthen and promote the healing process in these areas:

As a preventative therapy Balancing metabolism Digestive disorders Fluid retention Menstrual problems Sinus problems
Back pain and neck pain Constipation Eliminating toxins Improve circulation Revitalize energy Thyroid imbalance
Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue massage employs the principles of muscular restoration. It works across the muscles manipulating deep tissues, stimulating circulation, and regenerating lymphatic flow. This promotes detoxification and oxygenation of stagnant tissues. It is designed to bring fluids into the cells, stimulating changes on a cellular level. Deep tissue massage releases adherent muscle conditions existing in the deep layers of the muscles and actually corrects damaged muscle tissues.

De-stress massage

This is a very relaxing type of massage; the duration of 1-hour treatment will ease stress and strains. De-stress massage concentrates on the neck, shoulders and relieve stiffness, tension and tired muscles

Since stress can translate in different ways for different people, from aches and pains, to muscle tension, to both physical and emotional exhaustion, massage can actually help your body and mind de-stress, providing relief as well as, if not better than, medication for some of these ailments.

Shiatsu Massage

This method of therapeutic massage is based on the same pressure point system as acupuncture. Meridians (sometimes called channels) are the pathways of life force – called Chi. According to Chinese philosophy; well-being is achieved by the un-obstructed and balance of chi flow.

Meridian massage is a treatment for all. It can help to release tension, neck and shoulder pain, back problems, headaches, poor circulation, slow metabolism, and encourage positive emotional feelings.

Acupressure Facial

Also know as Chinese Facial: A radiant complexion from within

Oriental teachings tell us that beauty comes from within a person, and our Acupressure Facial is no exception. It is a combination of facial skin treatment and massage of the face pressure points for both clear and firm complexion and improved circulation of blood and energy throughout the face. Our treatment increases blood circulation and "Chi" flow acting as an anti-aging for a younger looking face. The result: truly healthy complexion. Complimentary treatments for acne, dry or oil skin are available.

Slimming Massage

In traditional Chinese Medicine, obesity is due to: (a) the stagnation of “Chi” due to blockages of the meridians, fatty tissues will deposit in certain parts of the body, and (b) poor blood circulation resulting in lack of desire to move, pain, aches, water retention, swelling of the legs and ankles.

The slimming programme that we offer is aiming to unblock your “Chi”, increase blood circulation, metabolism, reduce water retention especially for problem areas such as abdomen, buttocks, thighs and legs. We also manipulate certain pressure points to delay hunger and suppress the appetite naturally. Special cellulite oil is applied during slimming massage. A weekly programme is recommended for slimming treatment.

Hot Stone Massage

The heat from the stones helps your muscles relax, allowing the massage therapist to manipulate your deep tissues more effectively.

Overly tense muscles can hinder the massage procedure, so if your muscles are extremely tight or stiff, the heated stones may provide the extra relaxation you need for the massage to be beneficial in releasing tension and easing sore muscles.

Jet Lag Massage

Prolonged air travel poses a lot of health risk for us for the reason that blood circulation is compromised. A good full body massage focused on blood circulation to ease body pains and aches. Best when you feel sluggish after a flight. Available at Feet First Reflexology and Massage Centre.

Hand Reflexology

Hand reflexology is an ancient therapeutic massage technique that applies pressure on parts of the hand to stimulate other parts of the body.

It is based on the principle of pressure points on the hand and the feet that are directly linked to different vital organs of the body. Although the term reflexology is mostly associated with foot reflexology, the fact of the matter is, that its overlooked cousin, hand reflexology, is as effective.

Emphasizing reducing tension throughout the body, hand reflexology also may enhance relaxation, relieve pain, and improve blood circulation. There are also reported cases of the positive effects of hand reflexology on health problems relating to digestion, respiration, migraine, and sinus
